Seamless Cylinder Production

Seamless cylinders can be divided into four types according to different materials: steel seamless cylinders, aluminum alloy cylinders, composite steel cylinders and composite aluminum cylinders.

There are two main production methods of seamless cylinders: 1.stamping + welding; 2.spinning processing.
The traditional production method is to stamping the shoulder and bottom of the bottle first, and then weld with the tube billet or coil welded bottle body. Not only the manufacturing process is complex, the production cost is high, the product sealing and pressure capacity is not ideal.
In recent years, spinning process has become the mainstream process for producing seamless gas cylinders. The cylinder produced by spinning can not only eliminate the defects of welding discontinuity, strength reduction, brittle cracking and tensile stress concentration in the production of the traditional cylinder, but also greatly improve the gas tightness and pressure resistance of the cylinder.
According to the different processing technology, the spinning process of seamless cylinders can be divided into two types: forward forming and reverse forming. The flow direction of the positive forming is material flow direction is consistent with the feed direction of the roller, and the flow direction of the reverse forming is material flow direction is opposite to the feed direction of the roller.

When the desired shape of the cylinder is small diameter of the open end or excessive necking, or it needs to be closed, it must be processed by reducing the diameter of the cylinder without a core mold. Reducing spinning is a metal processing method used for forming thin-wall hollow rotating parts. The actual processing process is to heat a cylindrical hollow part to the temperature suitable for processing when the metal strength and plasticity are suitable, and the tube end slowly shrinks through the movement of the rotating wheel, and it is spun several times until it is fully formed.

Gas energy as a substitute for liquid energy is an energy policy of our country. As a kind of gas storage container, gas cylinder has been widely used in industry, mining, medicine, diving, automobile and other fields. The development of seamless cylinders to large and ultra-large cylinders is an inevitable trend in the development of cylinders. Cylinders produced by spinning process have a very broad market for their unique overall seamless characteristics, and there is a trend of completely replacing cylinders produced by traditional process methods.
